About
I am an amateur photographer who grew up in rural New Zealand - a small settlement called Puha in the North East of New Zealand's North Island approximately 25 miles inland from Gisborne. My interest in photography was sparked when I was 10 years old by an enlightened primary school teacher who set up a makeshift darkroom. Opportunities to pursue a career in photography were absent so I trained as a dietitian, eventually having my own private practice in Sports Nutrition in a multi-disciplinary Sports Medicine Clinic.
Now retired from formal "work" I live with my husband and our Jack Russell Terrier on a 10 acre rural block on the Kapiti Coast - North of Wellington, New Zealand.
My love of the peace and quiet of the countryside inspires me to want to capture the ever changing mood of the landscape. I enjoy the challenge of making an image which truly reflects how I feel about what I see. I explore other genres of photography and strive to create an image which reflects my point of view. How we see has fascinated me from a very early age. Several people may look at the same scene but everyone will see it differently.
These images are ones I like - If you like them too it is a real bonus. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy viewing them.
